TESTIMONIALS- SEE WHY QCRC IS THE PLACE TO LEARN TO ROW

Learning to row had been on my bucket list for a couple of years. When COIVD hit and I lost my job, I thought, “How can I turn this into a positive?”. So, I decided that I was going to learn to row and I am so happy that I joined QCRC - the coaches are awesome, it challenged me, I’ve made new friends, it’s a great reason to get outside, and it’s a phenomenal workout. I had been a runner which took a toll on my knees and rowing has been great for full body workouts without the impact on my knees. Joining QCRC was definitely a highlight of 2020 and I can’t wait to get back on the water in 2021.”

Last fall my husband and I were looking for an activity that would get us out of the house while being safe during covid times. We heard that Queen City rowing is offering LTR classes for adults in singles and takes safety seriously. The class sounded appealing to us since we like water sports but summer was coming to end. We figured we could row even when it gets colder. The classes were the right amount of fun and challenge! Pedro was patient with us and coached us on the correct technique with fun drills. Even though rowing is harder than we expected, it was very rewarding to learn in just one month!

After we graduated we were allowed to row by ourselves as with LTR lessons you are automatically a member of the Queen City rowing club for a year. Even though we graduated at the end of October we were still able to enjoy rowing until the middle of November. Our only regret is that we didn’t sign up for LTR sooner! I can’t wait until I an row on the water again! Until spring, rowing on Concept2 will just have to do.

I joined and completed the Learn to Row program during the summer of 2020 because I wanted to challenge myself with learning a new skill. I already had over a year and half experience on the Concept2 ERG and thought skulling would compliment my training. Not only did it add variety to my normal routine, but skulling has given me a better appreciation for being outdoors and on the open water (the beautiful Ohio River!). The instructors were very knowledgeable and dedicated to ensuring all the beginner rowers learned all the safety aspects. I highly recommend this program for anyone interested in this great activity!

“The Learn To Row class at Queen City Rowing provided a great opportunity to learn the sport in a safe way during the pandemic. The location is easy to get to and Pedro’s patience and guidance were a perfect mix to get me on the water and going in short order in the single scull. The opportunity to get high quality instruction and, following graduation, the ability to access the shells on my own schedule and practice what I learned was a great combination. Gaining these skills also opened up the opportunity for me to share in this activity with my daughter, a former collegiate rower. I am definitely looking forward to next season and the chance to continue to work on my technique as well as to take in the two venues on the Little Miami/Ohio River and East Fork Lake.”
